1. Overview
This privacy policy explains what personal data is processed when you visit www.swenggcosoftware.com and when you contact us. Personal data is any information that can be used to identify you personally.
We keep this website deliberately simple: it does not use cookies, analytics, advertising, social media plugins, embedded maps or videos, or any other third-party content. All fonts and images are served from our own web server.

3. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by an external web hosting provider that processes data on our behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR). When you open the website, your browser automatically transmits information that the server records in log files:
- IP address of the requesting device
- Date and time of the request
- Requested page or file and the amount of data transferred
- Referrer URL (the page you came from)
- Browser type and version, operating system
- HTTP status code
This data is needed to deliver the website to your device and to keep it secure and stable, for example to detect and fend off attacks. It is not combined with other data sources and is not used to build profiles.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in the technically error-free and secure operation of our website.
Retention: log files are deleted automatically after no more than 14 days, unless a specific security incident requires us to keep individual entries for longer to investigate it.
4. No cookies, no tracking
This website does not set cookies and does not use web analytics, tracking pixels, fingerprinting or similar technologies. No data about your visit is passed to advertising networks or social media platforms. For this reason, there is no cookie banner.
The website uses the font “Fira Sans”, which is hosted on our own server. No connection to Google or other font providers is established when you visit the site.
5. Contacting us
If you contact us by email or phone, we process the information you provide (such as your name, email address, phone number, company and the content of your message) in order to handle your enquiry and any follow-up questions.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry relates to a contract or to steps prior to entering into a contract; otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in responding effectively to enquiries addressed to us.
Retention: we delete your data once your enquiry has been fully dealt with and there is no further reason to keep it, unless statutory retention obligations (for example under commercial or tax law) require us to keep it for longer.
6. Job applications
If you apply for a position by email, we process the data contained in your application (for example contact details, CV, certificates and references) solely to carry out the application process.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps prior to entering into an employment contract) and, where applicable, the employment-related data protection laws of the country where the position is based. If you consent to us keeping your application on file for future vacancies, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
Retention: if we hire you, your data is transferred to your personnel file. If we do not, we delete your application no later than six months after the application process ends, unless you have consented to a longer retention period.
7. SSL/TLS encryption
For security reasons, this website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by “https://” in your browser's address bar and the lock symbol. Please note that ordinary email is generally not end-to-end encrypted; if you need to send us confidential information, let us know and we will agree a secure channel.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access to the data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR)
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Withdrawal of consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR)
Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)
Where we process your data on the basis of our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you have the right to object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then no longer process the data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Right to lodge a complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state of your habitual residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement (Art. 77 GDPR).
To exercise any of these rights, simply email us at info (at) swenggcosoftware (dot) com.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy if our website or the legal requirements change. The current version is always available on this page.
